April 2026 Statutory Rate Increases
The Following legislative changes are due to take place in April 2026:
National Minimum Wage (NMW) Increase
for workers aged 21 or over (the national living wage) increases to £12.71 per hour
for workers aged at least 18 but under 21 increases to £10.85 per hour
for workers aged 16 to 17 increases to £8.00
the apprentice rate increases to £8.00
the accommodation offset increases to £11.10.
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
Removal of the 3 day waiting period and the Lower Earnings Limit.
SSP increases to £123.25 per week
for those earning below SSP, 80% of normal weekly earnings.
Family Related Pay Increases
£194.32 per week for:
statutory maternity pay;
statutory paternity pay;
statutory adoption pay;
statutory shared parental pay;
statutory parental bereavement pay; and
statutory neonatal care pay.
Lower Earning Limit (LEL)
Lower Earnings Limit increases to £129 per week.
Statutory Redundancy Pay
